Project Description

A REU student will be involved to learn a newly developed two-dimensional WG-FEM solver for linear elasticity problems on unstructured grids. The WG-FEM solver is parallelized with a balancing domain decomposition method with constraints (BDDC) algorithm. A few canonical structural mechanics test problems will be examined using the WG-BDDC solver to demonstrate parallel efficiency of the method as well as its solution accuracy on parallel computers.
